In Response to COVID-19

Burlington Taxi continues to provide the City of Burlington taxi service through these unprecedented times. Thank you for having faith in our business and supporting our drivers with your calls for service. We now provide service beyond essential, taking you wherever you need to go. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Burlington Taxi drivers, who make it possible for us to take care of our community despite the challenges of COVID-19.

Our highest priority is the health and safety of our customers, drivers & staff. We are actively following the guidance of The Government of Ontario and The City of Burlington. As the City of Burlington begins to ease COVID restricitions, we are following safety guidelines closely to protect our team & riders.

Burlington Taxi Protocol

Drivers & Staff – Personal Hygiene

Our protocol requires all employees to increase the frequency and duration of hand-washing, use hand sanitizer between customers, and stay home when ill. Hand sanitizer refills are provided to Drivers 24/7 in Dispatch. Drivers have been supplied with non-medical face masks to assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Taxis & Drivers – Sanitation

Taxis have been outfitted with plastic barriers to divide the driver from the rear passenger area. The barrier will include an access panel to receive payment.  Drivers are supplied with Virox 5 disinfectant to be used multi-times daily for cleaning all surfaces that interact with people. Disinfectant refills are available 24/7 to drivers in dispatch.

To Our Valued Customers – What You Need To Know

Please sit in the backseat and please manage your own baggage to support social distancing and lessen transmission of bodily fluids. Face masks are recommended but not a requirement. If you have any symptoms, have recently traveled out of the country, have been in contact with anyone who has recently traveled, or have had any other recent exposure that may have put you at risk of infection, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TAKING A TAXI or PUBLIC TRANSIT for the recommended 2 WEEKS and your symptoms have been been resolved.

Dispatch Staff will screen all bookings to or from medical clinics and hospitals. We unfortunately do not have the medical capacity to transport passengers with any related COVID-19 symptoms.

Offices & Dispatch Centre

We are also taking proactive measures for our office community and dispatch centre, increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting high traffic areas and surfaces. In-house staff have been minimized to a light operational crew to keep our service running and to allow for strict social distancing.

On behalf of all of us at Burlington Taxi, we want to thank you for helping us do our very best to keep everyone safe. We will continue to notify you of any changes to our service. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
